Hognosed Snakes

OK, got a question or comment. A story was relayed to me about a death attributed to a Hognosed Snake, do not remember if it was Eastern or Western but supposedly a science teacher was letting the snake chew on his finger when he got nailed by one of the rear fangs and went into anaphalactic shock. I can not find any varification to this story, does anyone know anything about this or where I could find proof of this story.
