Upon the 1st year and a half of life my california kingsnake has now defied her traditional stance as a benevolent creature. One day she was a good kingsnake, the next, a bonified Lampropeltis getulus "bastardi" (HA HA)! I only have one other kingsnake who is also a punk, but I have had him (a Speckled king ) for 13 years (the majority of my 17 years) and cant do anything about it. I also had grown fond of this young callie but she suddenly latched onto my finger last weekend and held on for about 2 minutes. I don't like to rip them off as it causes more damages than all the immediate relief in the world cant make up for. She now (just like my older kingsnake) latches onto to nearly anything you put in her face and greets her weekly feeding by climbing out of the cage before you can even offer her the hopper. Does anyone own a nice adult king? I personally don't think one exists. Tell me about your kings or cobras (they are also very similar to kingsnakes in all of their habits). Cobras are just big kingsnakes with fangs and deadly poison.
