Overfeeding Fl ss?

HI! I've sorted through the forum and found great posts on feeding, but never on what is too much? My tank suddenly gets stinky pretty fast, but I think it may be related the the problem Reptomin was having for some time - till recently my softie had a 100% reptomin diet, then the tank became gross with a new can of reptomin. Switched to big shrimp which he loves, but can't figure out what is too much - he'd eat pounds if I let him. The softie is around 10inches. Still fighting the cloud. Tank is 65 gallons and 82degrees with 2 super big power heads on an undergravel filter. Ok, no sand, just gravel, turtle seems happy anyhow for last 2 yrs. Hey, what are some other good foods? I saw dog food and beef heart in the posts, anything else? Thanks for any help....
