: I keep my all my softies on 75 F for water, air temps are 80 F and the hot spots are 90 - 100 (different spots) I would not have the fish in the same enclosure unless there feeders. Softies eat fish. I would feed the babies turtle food liver, crickets, fish, other bugs and pinkies when older. Remember female softies get over 10".

I have three baby softshells I'm getting today from a friend. I'm planning on putting them in my pond in my backyard. I'm in the SF Bay Area and am new to turtle raising.
: Does anyone have any suggestions for me? The pond has some fairly big Koi and smaller gold fish in it. Do you think if I feed the turtles they will leave the fish alone? Or, it is their instinct to eat fish. Is water temp a concern? Any suggestions on what to feed the babies?
: Advise greatly appreciated--I don't want them to die!
