::Hi Mike, I think the idea here is that goldfish have too many negatives going against them to be used as a staple. The pellet food has all the vitamins and minerals. And something like chicken hearts and gizzards are cheaper(per pound of flesh)and I believe it's what gator farmers use. Steve

Thanks,guys. I've tried rat fuzzies a couple of times and my ally seems uninterested in them. In discussions on (force) feeding snakes, I've heard that feeding a diet heavy on organ meats like hearts / gizzards is unbalanced, since it's all protein and no bone calcium or gut contents. Is this an issue I should be concerned about.
