Moving to LA/West

Hi everybody...I'm moving to California from Pennsylvania in the fall to attend UCLA. Where are the most reptile-friendly communities in the West LA area? I have 2 savannah monitors and a ball python. Are there any legal issues or problems I should know about? Any other monitor keepers out there?
