As mentioned above this snake is a Liophis poecilogyrus according to current taxonomical data. In reality there seem to be more than 3 different valid species for which this species name is used. The holotype is from Barra de Jucú, Rio Espirito Santo, Brazil. The actual distribution of this species is: Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil (Amazonas, Rio Grande do Sul, Maranhão), Ecuador, Bolivia, Venezuela (Bolivar [HR 30: 54]) and Paraguay. I know animals from Rio Grande do Sul and Argentina and they are very similar to the animal you have. The following photo shows an animal from Rio Grande do Sul:
