Unidentifiable snake

Someone emailed me asking if I could identify a snake they have under their house. I think it's a hognosed but here's the description incase anyone else has any ideas:
"It was about a foot and a half long, kind of a sandy-ish color, it's head looked kind of swollen and it kept flipping on it's back."
