Snakes in general feel safer and more secure in a smaller box. But seeing as you will prbably provide a hide box it is your preference.
My experience has shown to keep smaller boxes for easy cleaning and less substrate being replaced every time.
The importatnt thing you have to remember when keeping rosys is they need a lot of ventilation compared to colubrids. The rosys do not do well in unventilated boxes and come down with problems from the humidity. So a large box would be effeceint for ventilation.
Your call.
I'm designing a rack that will house collubrids and also rosies. Since I have a small collection, I can afford to give the snakes more room than would be considered adequate. I'm looking at 2 Iris boxes for the rosies. One is 13.5 x 16 x 7, or approx. 216 sq. in. floor space, which seems a little small to me. The other is 16.25 x 24.25 x 6.25, or 394 sq. in., which I'm sure is more than big enough. Unless someone convinces me otherwise, I'll go for the bigger box. What do you think?
