My chocolate rosy is almost a year old (in june), shes about 18 inches long. Gorgeous animal.
I've been going by the general rule of "feed a mouse just big enough to make a slight bulge".
Just this morning I fed her two pinkies (they're slightly smaller than I usually get) and she sucked those down like candy (amazing feeding response in this girl) and once she finished she was waiting for more. She even was sniffing at the flat rock she was on when I fed her (during her curling around, she scraped the picky on the rock a bit)
Also, she gets a litle snappy 4 or 5 days after feeding. My guess is this is when she is really hungry and equates my hand as something to do with food?
I heard young rosies are supposed to have voracious feeding. Mine has this in spades, but I never expected a rosy to be THIS voracious and hungry. Once she gets into a feeding response, she is a completely different snake.
So am I getting to the point where I should be feeding fuzzies?
