:Chris,
:It is not a good idea to house animals that young together. The female should be around 14 months before you put her anywhere near a male. Breeding at a young age could be potentially harmful not to mention very stressful. Keep them apart till they are older if at all. IMO adults should only be introduced for breeding and separated the rest of the year, they thrive in these conditions.
:As for that attack it was prob a feeding response. I have seen geckos at that age housed together with other geckos foots in their mouth. They are not mature enough to care about breeding at that point, so no use in housing them together. I am not sure about the tail however, it has never happened to my guys before. Give it a couple of days and see what happens.

Hi Mike, thanks for the quick response. Yes, I keep do keep them seperate when not attempting to breed them. The female I mentioned, although a virgin, is definitely larger than the male I mentioned and likely old enough to breed, as a similar age/size female recently laid one egg (her first time). It's only the male I was speaking of when I said that he may be immature. I have two other large adult pairs together at the moment (for breeding purposes) and never noticed similar behavior, so I tend to think it was the males immaturity that led to a feeding response/bite.
I'm definitely gonna let this male mature a good few months before introducing him to any females again.
