I want to breed my male crested gecko in Spring.
I'm not sure if I should even start in the Spring (I'm having second thoughts). My crested male is about 6 months now. I really want to start breeding in Spring (excited), though maybe I should wait at least another year or two. What should I do if I decide to start breeding and then after a year or so I want to stop. Will I have to separate them. Which is something I don't really want to do. I know I can drop the temperature, but how long can it really stay like that, it can't be very good for them to pass the 5 month mark? Plus I will have to find some sort of way to cool the terrarium. Any ideas?
Should I get my female now and have her for a year or two and then breed? or start looking in a year?
'Female crested geckos are hard to come by too.'
Say I do get a female now and start breeding in spring.
Would it be bad for the pair if I put her in his cage for 4 months and then took her out...and so on? Will it be stressful?
I kind of just want some personal opinions, advice or experiences others have had.
Thanks for your help!
