:My 3rd grade son wanted to enter his school's science fair - but he wanted to use geckos. We decided to use crested geckos and how temperature affects food intake.
:We have clutchmate (females - both 45 grams) caged in identical set ups - one in 70 degrees and the other in 80 degrees.
:Peter's hypothesis was that the crested gecko in 80 degrees would eat more because his metabolism is higher.
:What we are finding out is that the crested in 80 degrees is eating less - probably because 80 degees is slightly stressful. (don't worry, this experiment is only running 7 days).
:I know there is more to the equation than just the heat - but Peter has been learning a lot about rhacs and the scientific method.
:Just thought I would share.
