My 3rd grade son wanted to enter his school's science fair - but he wanted to use geckos. We decided to use crested geckos and how temperature affects food intake.
We have clutchmate (females - both 45 grams) caged in identical set ups - one in 70 degrees and the other in 80 degrees.
Peter's hypothesis was that the crested gecko in 80 degrees would eat more because his metabolism is higher.
What we are finding out is that the crested in 80 degrees is eating less - probably because 80 degees is slightly stressful. (don't worry, this experiment is only running 7 days).
I know there is more to the equation than just the heat - but Peter has been learning a lot about rhacs and the scientific method.
Just thought I would share.
