The most important part in conditioning a gecko to bowl feed is its placement. You can’t place it in an open area of the cage; otherwise its contents can’t be seen. Ideally it should be placed under a favorite perch so the gecko can see the insects from above. It should only take them a night or two to figure it out. The best size bowls to use are medium size dog crocks. Most crix will not jump out, but for pesky ones their back legs can be pinched off. However it is easier to feed adults this way then hatchlings. The little ones do not always pick up on it for some reason. Not to mention their cages would be to cluttered with a big dog crock in it. In there case it is usually just easier to give them a moderate size cage according to their size (ones that food and water can be found easily) and move them up as they grow. Anyway that’s about it.
