While ADULTS might do ok on just meat and fruit type baby foods (with suplimentation). I would not raise babies with out some sort of live food. I hear roaches can be used but I'm not sure how well a baby crested could handle a roach. Meal worms should be avoided. Wax worms are too fatty. Butter worms are good if you can get the crested to eat them. Crickets are probably best though. With Allens new diet coming out you would need less crickets but I would not elimanate them compleatly.
