The crested gecko diet was made so people would not have to feed live prey. I personally would never cut out feeder insects esp for younger animals, but that's just me (check out the post below). I have never tried freeze dried insects before, but I doubt they will be intrested. The movement of crix and the sweet smell of fruit is what gets them going. If you mix the freeze dried crix into the fruit they MIGHT eat it. Your gonna have to try it. Mixing it all up in a blender would prob work much better. Crix really are not that bad and do not smell if taken care of (heated, large cage, clean water...etc). Other than that you really can't get away from live prey with most lizards, they just love it so much =). Besides it is fun to watch them hunt and engage in normal activity =).
