Diet question - Something I haven't seen asked

I hate crickets. I really, really hate crickets. They stink, yada, yada, yada...But, I know that a higher protein diet is very beneficial to these geckos.

So, I was wondering how a pair of Cresteds would fare on the new "T-Rex Crested Gecko Diet," which has quite a bit of protein in it, along with some freeze dried crickets. I know that p/k crickets (that sounds funny) don't work so well with animals that are purely insectivors, but with Cresteds eating fruit, etc., I wouldn't anticipate that they would mind, since they're used to eating food that doesn't move.

With the freeze dried crickets available, do I really need to keep live crickets around? If so, what's the benefit?

By the way, money is not an object, since I only plan to keep 1.1 or 1.2 Rhacos.
