Doing a fecal exam on microscope? I have 900x. Is this okay?

Could I do my own fecal exams? I have a 900x microscope. I thought I would check the internet for all kinds of worms and parasites. I would only use it for month checks. BUT if I found anything at all or thought anything was wrong I would take it in to a real vet for their expert opinion. Do you think this is okay? I mean shouldn't it be fairly obvious if my reptile does have anything like coccidia etc.
Anyone do this? Had success?
