Patience and time - use short intervals to hold them. Also, remember, some geckos just never get accustomed to handling.

There is something about handling cresteds though. They are even more fun than leopard geckos - because they look so dang goofy. You can have the worst day in the world - and a crested will bring a smile to your face.
