Liz,
He might just not like crickets. Just keep giving him the silkworms; they are actually better for him then the crickets. You can also try to hand feed him baby food on a spoon. As far as the meat baby food goes I have never seen a rhac take it alone. It has to be mixed with fruit. A 2:1 ratio of fruit to meat works out well. If he still won’t touch it add some more fruit, you have to experiment to see what he enjoys best. Like I always say, they are all different with there own preferences.
Males due tend to be smaller (weight wise) and eat less then females. All of my girls are tanks. So do not worry if he has a little less girth then they do. However by no means should he be skinny, even thought they tend to be smaller they still are fat little buggers. I feed my guys 4-5 large crix everyday. My females could easily eat ten or more, but they are already large enough as it is (obesity can happen if over feed)
I really don’t think anything is wrong. Just keep giving him the silkworms and as long as he is eating something he should be fine.
As far as the book goes, I am not sure when it is going to come out, early this New Year maybe? Have I sent you my crested e-guide Liz? You’ll find tons of info on care, breeding, feeding, etc. Anyway just let me know and ill e-mail it to you. =)
