Canned fruits are heavy in sugars and preservatives. Not only that, but they are not as nutritious as real fruit.Canned fruits are not healthy.Use fresh mashed apricots(highest in calcium)and peaches, or apricot and peach baby food. Also, do you use a feeding bowl? Young geckos may not be quick or skilled enough yet to chase them. Plus how big are the crickets? They shouldn't be bigger than the head of the animal you're feeding.Another reason they may not be eating is that they aren't settled down yet. Hope this helps.
:Ok I've had my cresteds for only 2 days now and they have not eaten a single cricket. I am offering small crickets to them. Do young cresteds eat crix or fruit/baby food more readily. I am going to try some mashed up canned peaches tonight, is canned fruit ok for them? I will try a half teaspoon each.
:I thought babies only eat small bugs and then you have to get them started on fruit?
