4 week old diet?

Ok I've had my cresteds for only 2 days now and they have not eaten a single cricket. I am offering small crickets to them. Do young cresteds eat crix or fruit/baby food more readily. I am going to try some mashed up canned peaches tonight, is canned fruit ok for them? I will try a half teaspoon each.
I thought babies only eat small bugs and then you have to get them started on fruit?
