I have a 14 and 9 year old, and they just ADORE the cresties. I'm a campus pastor, and they are always carrying one of the cresties from my office all over - even before church (I had to remind my son to put him away before the service began!! LOL).

My cresties are extremely tame - although they can hop unexpectedly - but they have learned to make sure they are pointed toward their bodies.

My daughter - aged 14 - was holding our male crested (from Allen at Sandfire Dragon Ranch) up to her nose - when he reached out and gently "honked" the end of Emily's nose. Pretty funny - and she said it didn't hurt.

Don't forget about the gargoyles though - the one I bought from Eric Yip is delightful and extremely tame.

Have fun.
