::Well when I have my pairs setup during the breeding season they are often found sleeping very near to each other. However I would not call this a “pal” relationship, they are just reptiles after all. But to answer your question there is no problem to house a male with a female or a female with a female. You just have to pay a little more attention to make sure everyone is eating all right and no one is stressed out. However most of the time they get along fine.
