Crashing geckos

Hello all. Just was wondering if it is normal for a crested gecko too fall when it is climbing. I assume that they are adapted and not to badly hurt by this, as they are arboreal. Its just that @ night, i always hear a thump, and see my female on the ground, like she has fallen. Just wondering if this is normal. Thanx :)
