Mating problems.... please help

yesterday i came down stairs to find my male doing the mating courtship to my female, she didn' tseem to be injoying it, he kept accidently getting her eye, she saw me and begged for food, he kept on trying about 5 more times, all were unsucessful. i didn' thibernate them but he still wants to mate today. How do i make the female want to mate too???? she just keeps ignoring him and running off, this is the first time my turtles have wanted to mate, they are mature enough to...
Please help.
Will the male keep trying until she wants to too???
How do i tell if they already mated???
