8 years old turtle eating rocks

I have my RES since 8 years and since few months i noticed she was eating her rocks, does anyone have had the same problem!??!

For sure i remove rocks from his tank but there must be an explanation.

I also want to know how often you think it is better to feed a 8 years old turtle and what kind of food to give. I feed her with crab and some times with pellets and veggies like carrots.
