:I recomend you get them a 20 gallon long tank, because they will grow to be pretty darn big. The people in the pet store are liable to tell you that they will not grow, because that makes them easier to sell. They are probably red eared sliders, because red eared sliders are the most popular species in turtles in the U.S. Females can get up to 15 inches, and females get bigger than males.
