I typically feed them veggies that I eat also. :D I've fed them romaine lettuce, carrots, broccoli leaves, bok choy, Chinese cabbage etc. Leafy green are good. NO spinach; oxalic acid in spinach combines with calcium to form an insoluble salt that builds up in the kidneys, and prevents calcium absorption. I give them veggies on average once a week. Sometimes more frequently right after I do grocery shopping. ;-) To prevent veggies from being blown around by the filter water output or being stuck at the water intake, I usually attach the veggies to a piece of fishing line that's taped on the wall of the tank.
