I would not recommend mixing species.. They might get along fine or they may fight....As to pet stores having mixes...They are in the business of selling as much as they can in the least amount of time...These mixes will not be in the store long enough for territories to be established. If you can house them apart I would recommend that you do...
:I have a young RES who is currently kept in a seperate tub from my adult EPT. He's not the best climber or swimmer yet, so I won't be moving him to the deep waters soon, but i was wondering if/when it would be possible. I always see mixed breeds housed together at the pet store, and obviously the species commune well in nature, but I'm concerned that my older turtle might see the younger as a large food morsel. Do I have to wait until they are equal size, and are there instances of turtles not bonding well at all? Thanks
