yes, you will need a UVB light considering it will probably not get much sun... UVB lights give the turts vitamin D3, which they only get from the sun and UVB lights. this vitamin keeps them from getting "softshell" which will deform their shell eventually. keep in mind that setting a turtle by the window will do NOTHING. window's and the aquariums glass reflects the vitamin D3 in the rays, and will not give him the vitamins he needs. regular sunlight is better for the turts than UVB, but i recomend he has BOTH the UVB and regular sunlight, but a UVB will be good enough. Just make sure his carapace and shell look nice and hard. if it starts to get softshell, consult a vet. hope this helps, turtleyman
