It might interest you to know that in studies of wild turtles, researchers have found gravel present in almost all wild turtles' stomachs. In some cases, it constituted half the volume of the stomach contents. Gravel does not pose a health risk. It is normal. It may serve some purpose in digestion, but we do not know that for sure.
