:I'm looking for general info on phildoryas particularly olfersii. Are they arboreal?
Semi-arboreal.
:I'm not too worried about venom, as I do have experience with venomous, and though I have heard they have given nasty bites(thank you bryan) I've also heard it's not life threatining.
As a matter of fact, there is at least one fatal case on record (admittedly in a small child). Most bites are indeed not life-threatening, but certainly seriously unpleasant and well beyond what one would expect for most rear-fangs.
As a matter of principle, I have to say that your attitude towards the danger posed by venomous snakes does cause me some concern. "I've also heard that it's not life-threatening" does not sound like a well-researched and well-founded basis for deciding to acquire a particular venomous snake - exactly the same thing is often said about copperheads, pigmy rattlers, European vipers etc. A number of people have ended up in hospital and seriously surprised by just how unpleasant a bite by a snake that "they'd heard is not life-threatening" can be.
I am not judging your experience or ability, and appreciate that the somewhat flippant tone of your message may have been unintended, but it does seem wise to point out that acquiring any species of venomous snake, irrespective of its supposed danger level, is not something that should be done lightly.
Cheers,
Wolfgang
