When we first got the male to pair with our large female (she's about 5'+ and he's about 4.5' or so) we made the mistake of putting them back into the same enclosure after they were finished eating (always separate during feeding, or course). The male, who we had just gotten and exhibited the craziest feeding responce I've ever seen, immediately latched onto the female, so we had a fun time getting them separated. But after a cool off period, they were reintroduced, and were fine with each other. Now we make sure to keep the two separate for quite some time after they've fed.
