a parasitic worm under the skin. If it appears that the lump is under the skin causing a bulge, it may be a parasitic worm. I had some wile collected Trimeresurus albolaboris come in with lumps under their skin a few years ago. We gave a local anesthetic and when we cut the lumps we pulled small worms out that were up to 3 inches long but only the diameter of a string. I can't recall as to what species of worm it was but we sent it in for identification. You would certainly want to go to a qualified vet to have this procedure done if this is what is presenting on your animals.
