Travis, it refers to the generation which has been captive born. F1 = first years captive bred off spring F2 = F1's captive bred offspring and so on. This F1, F2, F3, information is usually helpful when dealing with a species that if very difficult to establish or a very sensitive species. We hope that this clears things up for you.
