Racers eating rodents

hey i was wondering how do racers and coachwhips in the wild kill the rodents that they eat? i've heard that they dont constrict, so do they just grab the rodent and swallow it alive? sorry if this seems like a dumb question, but im not very familiar with racers at all, and i've always wondered this.
