Try some grasshoppers, or some crickets.
Also you can use soft bodied grubs and even maybe try a small pink mouse.

They usually eat insects as juvies, but they will normally eat small frogs and lizards too, kinda suprised it didnt take the skink.

You may want to stop handleing it for a few days and try the skink again, or just leave it in there with it and wait till it disappears, but then you dont want the skink to starve so you may want to do the cricket thing.
