coachwhips and rat snakes....

Someone just gave me a yellow rat snake and i'm wondering if i can keep in in the same tank (20 gallon) as my red coachwhip.Both snakes are around 32 inches with the rat snake being thicker.And of course they would be fed seperatly.
I would rather do this than keep the rat snake in the plastic shoe box that its currently in.
