I was road hunting for Mexican Milks in late June (South Texas), to my surprise I found a 24" western coachwhip at 2am, it was crossing the road in a deliberate manner. I don't remember the lunar condition at the time but it was strange, full moon or not. The weather was typical for S TX that time of year, hot and dry. Have any of you heard of this oddity before? That snake just didn't know any better, it should've read the books.
