::Did you mean this one? This may be the largest racer we have found. Later in the year ? actually in late September ? we found another of that size at the same spot. It did the same thing - head to that rose bush for safety. So maybe it was the same snake. They sure are beautiful.

:thanks eddie! you probably did see the same snake on different occassions. they seem to hang around certain areas, almost like a home range. in other news, my unicolor cribo started laying eggs about an hour ago. i mention this because drymarchon was formerly classified coluber back in the day and i think cribos and indigos ARE really just great big racers w/ good dispositions. any other thoughts on the matter? thanks again eddie! that is a hell of a shot!!

Can't comment on the taxonomy - just don't know enough about that. But your description of indigos as big racers with good dispostions makes me want to get one! By the way, what's a unicolor cribo? Given that indigos are diural, I would think they would make a good display animal in a large naturalistic terrrarium. Have you ever tried that?
