They are a very high strung animal. They can be a very difficult snake to keep in captivity. They typically grow to be five or more feet long. Sex can only be acuratly determined by probing.The more hiding places, the better. They also like it very warm. If you are using a glass aquarium, cover three sides with paper to make it feel more secure. Try live prey, small rat pups, lizards, other small snakes. Try anything and everything but keep in mind that this is usually their hibernation time of the year.
