I've never done it, but a local (St. Louis, MO) photo store advertises they can make slides from digital files (.jpg, .tif, etc.)

cost: $7.50/slide for 2730x4096 dpi slides - minimum order 2
$12.50/slide for 5460x8192 " " " " "

Doesn't sound cheap. But they'll make prints from digital on real photo paper for about the same price as prints from negatives.
