I have a baby painted Michigan turtle that was given to me after being rescued. It's been fine and healthy all summer. Now he won't eat and wants to stay on the basking rock all day. I have a heat lamp by the rock but the water is considerably chillier than it was this summer as we offset our house heat. Should I get a heater for the tank? Is he trying to hybernate?
