interesting comment.
actually despite what all the field guides say lots of people have told me of finding them in marshy swampy conditons where the water was warm. Though i've never head of them in dry areas. Near racerunners, huh? That's interesting. I know there are a few people who use this list who have lots of experience with plethodontids from the east. Maybe they could share their collecting anecdotes about springs and reds and muds and proximity to water.
