I see your point. I think this seemed wrong to me as it is contrary to my experience. I have only seen one erythrogaster (I haven't caught many) over 3 feet. I have caught many taxispilota, several floridana, and even a couple fasciata that approached 4 feet. The biggest sipedon I've caught was about 36". What species fall into the "small" Nerodia then? clarkii, harteri, vlaida, and rufipunctatus ;) ?


In any case...here's a small Nerodia for you!
