I have a 5 month old Whitethroat that eats 1- 2 mice a day.Along with dusted crickets ,worms, cockroaches every two or three days and he looks pretty healthy to me. Just wondering, why the emphasis on staying away from rodents?

:Nice big crickets should take up 80 percent of the diet
:suppliment it with turkey or chicken deli meats ( stay away from ham and beef)
:wax worms are high in fat and work well to beef someone up,
:you can try pinkies as a last resort but however the deli meat is gonna do the same thing and be healthier for him
:just don't get them stricktly on the meats because it gives them the runs ( found that out the hard way with my 3 and a half foot female..talk about poo everywhere)

:the canned monitor diets (zu preem, not zoo med's) work well sparingly, and you can also try low fat high protien canned dog or cat foods once again, sparingly i;'d reccomend this feeding schedule

:feed every other day
:one feeding crickets the next a supplimented diet, the next crickets on and on and so forth
:it's best to keep monitor's a bit hungry than it is to gourge them with food. I'm not saying starve them,. if you feed them every other day you'll be fine, my male i got as a hatchling a little over a year ago and he's 27 inches now, and thats on the exact diet i just mentioned
:hope this helps
