:I've got multiple thermometers in my animal rooms and temps on units several feet apart can differ by up to five degrees. (And do so even if i position them next to each other).
:I have the a/c and heat to control temps so I need better thermometers. Three of the wide-ranging units are the wireless remote sensors with an Oregon Scientific package, the display is kept in the main house so i can know what's happening elsewhere...or would, if they had more accuracy.
:Even if i could get just one PRECISE thermometer I could mark the others' variances and do the mental math to know what the temps really are.
:Recommendations?
:thanks

Almost all of the digital thermometers people buy from herps suppliers have a accuracy of +-5%. We use the same type of probes where I work and have to calibrate every one we install. Of coarse there is no way to calibrate the ones you buy from herp suppliers. A plan old mercury thermometer is more accurate. New technology is not necessarily better.IMHO
