:Hi,
:Here's one of my black milks, also an '02 hatchling from Napa Valley. September '02 to be exact... is yours from earlier in the season, or maybe you actually got that lone male yearling he had for sale?

You know what, I screwed up. I got him in early '02. He's an '01 baby.
I will tell you this--I fed him too much when I first got him. I only fed him once a week, but he always seemed hungry after eating one or two so I'd give him three or four. Even when he got up to rat pinks. I wasn't half as knowledgable back then. Now he's eating one rat crawler a week. If he doesn't slim down a bit (he's not obese but he could easily head down that road) on that diet he'll be getting one twice a month.
Steve once told me that he put one of his breeder females on a diet because she'd reached five pounds. Now that's a hefty milk!
My female hasn't grown half as quickly as he has and she's from the same year. I know the females stay smaller, but--well, I'll post a pic soon and you'll see what I mean.
